By relocating intensive inspections and administrative workflows inland, the project aims to optimize turnaround times for major shipping lines at the primary marine terminals. Furthermore, a major target is to transition freight transportation from heavy trucks to fuel-efficient rail links, reducing carbon dioxide emissions and lowering regional diesel consumption.

Description

The New Damietta Dry Port and Logistics Zone serves as a vital inland extension within the Tanta–Mansoura–Damietta logistics corridor, designed to alleviate congestion at the seaport by shifting heavy cargo traffic from roads to rail. Operating as a fully integrated customs-clearance depot, the terminal streamlines the container supply chain through computerized gates and automated processing networks. The facility connects Egypt’s core agricultural and industrial manufacturing markets directly to global maritime networks via optimized intermodal connections.
